Music and dance with a purpose

May 16th, 2018

                                                      2018 Puthandu Vizha celebration

Last month, during the Puthandu Vizha celebration, enthusiastic members and volunteers from the Sydney Tamil Magalir Mandram (STMM) Inc organised a family day full of music and dance to fundraise for Westmead Medical Research Foundation (WMRF).

During the recent cheque presentation, STMM president and founder, Ms. Vinithra Jayaraman said that she was very pleased with the fundraising efforts.

“In 2017 our community group raised $800 towards the work of the Foundation. This year with the support of generous guests and their families we managed to raise $2,200 for the purchase of wheelchairs Westmead Hospital patients,” Ms Jayaraman said.

The family event was filled with dance performances, delicious food, and engaging stalls showcasing traditional apparel, jewellery and home décor created by women entrepreneurs.

WMRF is very grateful for the ongoing support of STMM.
