Are you interested in volunteering?  Do you have some time you could give to charity?  Would you like to be part of something that raises money for medical research and hospital care for those who are sick in our community?

Westmead Medical Research Foundation is currently recruiting volunteers.

Sharing the story of Westmead and its great work and asking the community to support this cause is a huge task, and one we need your help on.

There are many new and exciting activities you can be a part of.  You might want to be part of a special event or maybe more interested in helping out regularly -- whatever you can do we would love to hear from you.

We are deeply grateful to our dedicated volunteers, some who help out for specific events and activities, and others who commit their time on a regular basis, all to help transform lives.

Please contact Marlene on 02 8836 4000 or volunteer@wmrf.org.au and have a chat about the activities you could be a part of (some are below for you to browse through).

Community Education Seminar

Westmead Medical Research Foundation provides free community education seminars within Westmead Hospital throughout the year.

We are in the process of planning each one for this year right now and would love to have some support promoting these events within the local area, or just on the day.  These seminars are invaluable, giving people the opportunity to hear directly from world class researchers and dcotors at Westmead working to eradicate disease and improve current treatments to deadly diseases.

The My Westmead Kiosk

Volunteers needed for daily running of the new kiosk in Westmead Hospital foyer:

  • selling merchandise
  • raffle tickets
  • taking donations

Hours and days are flexible to what works best for you.  Generally the kiosk is open from 9.30 to 3pm.

The kiosk is filled with fun, fresh and colourful merchandise for sale, also takes cash donations, sells raffle tickets and is an opportunity for us to share our cause and passion with the public who come through the doors every day.

If you'd like to volunteer at the Kiosk please let us know and contact Marlene on 02 8836 4000

Administration (office help)

Every now and then our office gets busy with large mailings (coming in and out!).

We are in communication with our donors regularly through mail and to keep costs down often do these within the office (rather than through a mailhouse).  Practically, this means lots of stuffing envelopes.

In return, with communication going out, and the generosity of the community coming in, there are times we recieve lots of mail to sort.

This is a ongoing opportunity, coming up every few months.  If you are interested in helping out in this way, please contact Marlene and let her know on 02 8836 4000.

Please help us in our mission to reduce suffering and save lives. You can make an immediate and positive difference today.
