Where the money goes

All funds raised from the 2010 race day will help us replace an outdated but vital piece of equipment called a cell sorter. The new cell sorter will be used to find treatments and cures for a range of diseases, including cancers, diabetes, kidney disease, multiple sclerosis and to aid organ and bone marrow transplants.

It will be shared by more than 900 researchers working at hospitals and research centres in Penrith, Mt Druitt, Blacktown, Auburn, the Hawkesbury and Westmead, including the Children's Hospital. In total, the cell sorter will contribute to groundbreaking work in more than 30 research centres across Greater Western Sydney.
